Canon EF 100-400mm IS L Zoom or Canon EF 400mm L Prime (Ladysmith) in Westholme, British Columbia for sale

One of these lenses has to go--love them both so you decide. The 100-400 is an IS (two modes) lens, very sharp but not quite as crisp as the 400mm. On the APS-C Canons this is a 160-640mm lens--impressive! It is a handful but the push-pull zoom allows for very fast acquisition and zoom to the crop you wish. It is an excellent all rounder telephoto zoom. The 400mm Prime has no IS and depending on your plans it may not matter much. As a bird in flight lens--panning or with moving subjects--the IS doesn't help much anyway. Still shots of birds or wildlife require a mono or tripod except in bright conditions, Very sharp and very fast focus speed and a lot of lens in a small, lightweight package--not a great beginner lens but a terrific "birder" once you get used to the prime nature. This lens has long been a favourite for hikers/kayakers because it is quite light, thin and has a built in lens hood. Both lenses work with all the Rebel series, full frame or compact sensor (50D, 6D, 7D, 1D's etc) Canons. Both in very good condition and come with the caps, hoods, official Canon cases and tripod mounts. Two stock photos, the others of items or shots taken with lenses.
